The Laboratory of Electromagnetic Innovations (LEMI) was founded in 2008 as a joint venture between Houston, Texas based KMS Technologies and the Lviv Centre of Institute of Space Research (LCISR) to focus on the development and production of high quality electromagnetic (EM) sensors for the geophysical industry. LEMI is located in Lviv, Ukraine.
The mission of the joint venture is to produce the highest quality geophysical EM sensors with the lowest noise figure on the market, at competitive prices. The primary product lines are low noise EM induction coil magnetometers and custom fluxgate magnetometers. These sensors will be optimized for use in marine and land magnetotelluric (MT) and controlled source EM (CSEM) measurements.
Based on the extensive knowledge and experience of LCISR and KMS Technologies’ personnel, LEMI will be able to expedite the construction of fit for purpose sensors. With this new technical expertise and expanded production facilities, LEMI will be able to quickly react to the market while continuing to maintain the highest quality standards in the market.
Based in Houston, KMS Technologies focuses on advanced EM methods for improved hydrocarbon discovery and recovery rates for the oil industry. KMS staff includes world recognized experts in the geosciences who have authored numerous publications, inventions and technologies and received several major awards for their technical work. Over the past eight years, KMS has taken EM technologies in borehole, marine and permanent installations from patents to prototype field tests to services.
By combining the strength of the development team at LCISR with the expertise in western technology found in the KMS Technologies’ engineering team, we expect LEMI to become the market leader in producing leading edge EM sensors.
